What is a sensory room?
A sensory room is a special, quiet space with a range of stimulating equipment to help us explore the world using all of our senses: hearing, vision, touch, smell, and taste.
A Sensory Rooms provide an environment for both learning and relaxation.
Pear Tree sensory room is open on Tuesday afternoons at 3.30 - 4.30 for parents/carers, children and early years workers to enjoy.
The sensory rooms provide a stimulating environment to meet individual needs.
There is no charge for using the Sensory Room
Why use a sensory room?
A Sensory Room can be used:
- To support play and communication development
- To support learning using all of our senses
- To support social and emotional development
- For relaxation
- For fun and enjoyment
