Research shows that children with highly involved dads develop better friendships and more empathy, have higher levels of educational achievement and self-esteem, and are less likely to become involved with crime or substance abuse. At the same time, mothers also benefit greatly from the support that fathers can provide, particularly in helping to balance work-life commitments.
